I've been working on adding serial numbers to the page of Best photos on my website: http://www.steel-wheels.net/best.html However, I've run into some problems when it came to tractors I photographed at the Best Show on Tracks in 2008, as I neglected to note down any serial numbers for these at the time. Tom Madden has been a great help in identifying many of the tractors for me so far, but I'm hoping that the collective expertise of this forum might help me to pin down the identities of some of the others.

The photos below show the Best 60 tractors that I'm still lacking data. If anyone can help me out with the serial number of any of these tractors I would very much appreciate it. Or even if you can provide me with the owner's name (privately if you prefer), I might be able to find the serial no. from the BSOT attendee listing that was compiled after the show.

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Best wishes

David

Many thanks as always Tom! I'll compare these names with the listing and see what I can come up with.

One query though: does Russell Turner have two Best 60's? I've already identified his tractor 2363-A as the one in the pic below (from his name on the info sheet), but this one has a mesh in front of the radiator, whereas the one in my post above (second row, first pic) doesn't so not the same tractor.

All the best

David

Thanks Erik, that's the listing I have too. Do you think you can identify any of the tractors in my pics from the photos that Deas P sent you? I photographed the lineup early in the morning, but it's possible that some of the tractors had information sheets hung on them later in the day, or maybe he took some pics of the serial plates?

All the best

David

David:

If that is not RT's then it belongs to Traynham Ranches. Interesting that both have the wrong carbs with Cat 60 Ensign as oposed to the Stromburg that they should have.

Thanks Tom. Does that mean that Traynham Ranches own the tractors in the first and second photos in the bottom row then, or is the tractor in the second photo someone else's?

Thanks Erik. We need to compare notes soon on the serial number listings, as I've been overhauling mine recently and might have some new numbers for you to add to your pages?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
