The blue truck came from the factory with those wings. They would have went clear back through the door originally. I had the white one painted to match. It’s got a 3406, so we’re sort of on topic lol.

How is the average yield looking so far (in CWT. Please!) ?
We were asked to haul lots of 13%plus protein from fields in the Delta to the millers. Haven’t done any wheat harvesting of my own since I was 19. All we had were 915 IH rice machines that we leased for the season. Best yield was 7980# per acre on dry land. Pretty good for here, as average yields were around 6000 maybe. What is that green thing, a 9600? I don’t know my Deere’s.
Hope you have a smooth season. JM

Well I had to do some math, as we are accustomed to bushels/acre. This 262 acre patch made 4278lbs/acre. That’s the best I’ve cut off this piece in the 12 years I’ve custom cut it for the neighbor. I’ll be starting on mine next Monday.

Combine is a 9500 with a Hillco leveler. One walker narrower than a 9600. Been a good old combine.

I’m very fond of both my Stars, the White one especially. Blue one has a big Cam 400.

Thanks Bruce, I will encourage you to post more harvest pictures.

No wonder farming never paid me to well,2000-3000 lbs/acre was a big crop.I did manage to break 6000/lbs/ac one time but never managed to figure out the formula to do it again.

Between a drowned out section (thin stand) and unable to dial in and fine tune the “glorified 105s”aka IH 915s until the final acres, we would have gotten over 80 sacks per acre. No worries, as we had some fields that barely produced 35 CWT. Per acre. Only managed to harvest 5 loads a day with those dinosaurs.

I knew a farmer that used to swear by planting by the moon- don't know what cycle it was but his smallest crops were three and a half tons, the english ones at 2240# per ton. Kept the trucks busy hauling to town
