could someone please let me know the minimum and maximum bushing to shaft clearance allowed on the Front idlers of a d4 6u
they are the earlier spoked type idlers.

the one idler axle shaft I have pulled out was very slightly bent which was a bit of a concern.
i put it in the press and put it back into shape. took about 20t.

plan to either replace the bushes and weld up the shafts and turn them down to original in the lathe, or simply build up the shafts to a larger diameter
and turn out the bushings to new clean bronze. this seems the most cost effective to me, just need to know what clearance to give it.

thanks.

Correction:
New clearance spec. is 0.005 to 0.009

Rest of the numbers are correct.
I read off the clearances for the carrier rollers.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
