I appreciate the thought Jan, we are located 10 miles southeast of Yoakum so we are 64 miles (straight line) northwest of Port Aransas. Harvey is now a category 3 hurricane and is projected to make landfall between Corpus Christi and Port Aransas. Latest forecast for us is for rainfall of 24 inches or more.
I had originally parked the D7E on top of the roots of this large leaning Live Oak to help anchor it when the rain loosens the soil and high winds blow.

The tractor is parked in the spillway of a small pond. Our largest rain event before this was 11 inches and the pond was full when it started. The water was @18 inches deep in the spillway then. The pond is nearly empty now but I am having second thoughts anyway!
I just hate the thought of losing part of the Shade Tree Shop complex!

Hi, Seiscat.
Is it possible to park the D7 somewhere higher and not so subject to serious water flows and attach a cable to your shade tree work shop?

Just a thought. Whichever, try to safe and well.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

News just showed gusts of 155, about 35 miles off coast.
Prayers for all of the folks in harms way.

Hey Rome K/G

I heard Phil Swift was heading down to Texas with his SUV loaded up.

Good thought on the beer can boat. Can't wait to see it in action!

13 plus inches and still coming down. Hulda III D7E is still anchoring the oak tree and no flow in the spillway...yet. No electricity since 7:30 this morning.

The times we have had hurricanes/tropical storms through here, I was always amazed that much of the damage from down trees was later after the wind had been blowing for a while. The ground softens up from the incessant rain and eventually the trees would start coming down. It seems to almost be better to have a fast moving storm that still has higher winds this far inland han a slow moving rain maker. Of course they can do both!
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄
