Looks like you made a great find, let us know what you found to be the trouble with the cold cylinders.

Cold Cylinder, she only has 3

The 3 cylinders diesels have my favorite sound of about any engine second only to a alison or a radial

Nice find !

Nice find !
The lights and generator have been off the cat for a long time but I have some spare lights and have struck a deal with a fellow member for a generator off his deasel thirty five, thanks Jed . I have a parts cat diesel fifty and I think that it has the same injectors as the 35 ( same part #) . Had the 50 injector tested at the local diesel shop and it sprays a good patern .going to pull the hood off of the 35 ,stem clean it and install the new injector and see if runs better . Has Any one tried this ? Thanks for the replys

What a find!! If you have that camera out again, how about a close up of the intake manifold and Carb of the starting engine. What year is the Cat.

Great Find, hopefully your cold cylinder is an easy fix. Good luck and have fun!

Bill, here is a side view of mine. I can get a closer pic this afternoon.

Getting some work done on the d35 drained the diesel ,cleaned the fuel tanks , filters, tightened the packing nuts on the water pump ,checked all the fluids and gave it a bath .It has a lot of white smoke all rpm and is missing on the middle cylinder .I changed the injector that had ben tested at the diesel shop with no change in performance so I changed the injection pump for that cylinder and bled the system and it still has a miss at idle and some times at higher rpm ,still white smoke at idle but is getting better . The funny thing is at any rpm under a good load it runs very well, no white smoke and no miss . I have bled the system plenty of times and the filters are clean with new fuel . When I crack the injector supply line at the pump and injector it is spraying bursts of fuel and is free of air .I plan on removing the aftermarket fuel filter just to eliminate possible problems , Also it has no blowbye at the crankcase breather so I don't think it is worn out piston rings .I have the operators book for it but no parts book . any help is appreciated ,thanks scott

I have a D50 that had a intermittent miss and I finally pulled the valve covers and found some of the outer valve springs were broken, the inner springs didn't have enough "spring" to reliably close the valves causing a miss.
