Iam now in Australia and wondering if there are any places that I can visit were are old Cat tractors and parts?

In Melbourne these days than to Sidney and Brisbane.

Welcome to DowNunda. There are a LOTTTT of pretty good private collections around but I don't have contacts for any of them. Hopefully, some of them will put their hands up here for you.

As you head North, it may be worth your while to have a look at Expressway Spares on the Pacific Highway just North of Wauchope and Port Macquarie, New South Wales, and then Tilly's in Toowoomba, Queensland. Both carry new spares but are also dismantlers and resellers.

Tilly’s scrapped all the old stuff and kept things from the year 2000 onwards. Depends what you are looking for Deff Jeff in Toowoomba does D 4 parts mainly if that’s what you’re looking for.

Tilly’s was on my list already but I see the message from ChrisE that Iam to late.

I have seen already some Cats , and have several adresses to go.

I Will see if there is someting at Expressway, hopefully there is something left.

From what I notized the last 15 years is there are so many companys with salvage Cat yards out of business.

Good adresses in the past were , Jim Zimmerman, Philips tractor, Jim Perkins, Florin tractor parts, and also a big miss is Robert Wilson.

I forgot other names in USA, but I think over 15 salvage yards are all one by now.

Most all the time everyting goes to scrap ,If you start now to collect and restore old Cats is almost not to do anymore , so many places that dissapeard.

it's not that it's hacked; we want the public to join and visit the forum to boost traffic on the site an hopefully provide a resource for more folks that are interested in old yellow junk, but to do that, we have to allow new users to join up and of course, some of them are spammers. We usually block them pretty quickly (within a day or so since we're all volunteers and this is not our day job). Flagging posts is good because it alerts admins to an issue that they can then act on.

I trust your Oz visit is going well. Where else are you travelling?
