I have a 5u,d2 cat. My rail or links are worn.I was wanting to know if there is a spec measurement when it has to be replaced. Also can the links be welded on to add material on, or if not, are they available. How thick are they when new? Thanks.

go to crawler heaven for wear limits----http://www.crawlerheaven.com/index.htm
the rails can be welded on to build up but its labor intensive

Don't think you'll find these at Crawler Heaven but the measuring procedures are the same.

Well guys, I do have the info but it's not in a simple chart form like for the D2.
As the models progressed the options and changes got greater. Specs are different for spoked vs solid idlers, cast vs forged rollers, track links generally got taller with subsequent models. Pin and bushings sizes changed. Tracks evolved from dry pin to sealed to sealed and lubricated (not for the D4). Track bolting also changes, so to state the specs the track link part number and discription of the undercarriage components is required.

Here is some specs on the track links for the D4.....same as the 941B.
