I was also wondering if someone would buy out Bill Campbell's stock and continue on with his business.
My fear with Bill's carbs and parts is the family might have simply put everything in a dumpster as that often happens doesn't it, as it can be a huge time consuming job clearing up a clever mans collection of tools and his workshop, not to mention things like small Ensign carbs and parts.
i was able to cast one top of the ensign carb for my TEN that had a Original broken top that happans a lot if the top screws are tightened to much with too thick seals of the centre shaft , or if the intake of the carb is tightened to much if its leaking.
i cast it , and put it in a lathe to make it flat and machined all holes it it. tested it and my ten runs good on it!
it would be realy awsome that there would complete new carbs made !!
i have 2 CAT Fifteens that have now a solex carb that was used a lot here as "beter" option after years of operation for the Original carb.

we were talking about this at the show today, and felt like the demand would be there is someone was to remake these carbs. i think the early one were made from brass.
if time allows i will get some prices for making these in brass and alloy, they should not be that hard to reproduce.

Sounds good Erik, thanks, I know one day I'll need a carb for my Ten restoration and three to suit the Fifteen / 8C Twenty.
It would be a terrible shame if Bill's inventory got tossed. I would have hoped someone would have offered to buy out the business. But if he passed away in May, it might already be too late.
I need the 1" diameter metering block that goes between the bowl and top cover. I may see if my brother in law can make me one. He is a machinist.
We should look into casting the gascolator as well. A friend of mine needs one of those for his TEN.
Pat
Did any one call the family and send their condolences?
Some one call and ask if the carbs may be around and make an offer...
Was having "fun" while working on one last week.![]()
One problem with these carburetors is they have a cork float. Cork floats are sealed with shellac which does not agree with the alcohol in gas. I have wondered if a brass float is available for these carbs.
there are not brass floats for sale , but it would be good if there would be made and be there for sale , aswell as new carbs of this one,(cat used 1 similar carb for the TEN and Fifteen tractors)
