Sorry this is a little new for the forum but just a long shot to see if anyone has access to a service manual that would cover D4E 77W01151?

Pulled out the steering clutches with bevel gear sitting on the left side of the pinion and all indications are that it is meant to be this way. I know from my data and experience on the 69X series the bevel gear is on the right side of the pinion. Want to double check this before I put it together. May have to wait till Monday to get hold of the parts guy at the dealership.
Thanks guys

Hi, Glum.
Question - do you have a parts book for that machine 'cos it should show how it sits amongst all the rest of stuff in there, at least to the extent of right or left. That placement would be governed by the rotation direction of the output shaft from the transmission.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Deas, I have the parts diagrams for the 69x frenchy built machines but not the 77w which is a late model brazilian made machine.

Seems odd, was the 77W a working machine or in the midst of overhaul?

D4e, thanks for the offer but i'll chat to the parts guy come monday and he should be able to pull up the 77w info for me. OM, it is a recently purchased machine which was working but needed steering clutch and brake work done. Was operating correctly so I'm pretty sure it is correct but between being curious and the fact that D4 back ends are the pits to work on I just want to double check before putting it all together.

Which way round does the direction lever work? it should push forward to go in reverse and pull back to go forward.

My book says its a power shift, 76W is the direct drive.

Thanks Don. Now you've got me wondering if I marked it correctly when I pulled it out. The plate which bolts down over the compartment to strengthen the casing also seems to show that the bevel gear was on the left side though. Catsilver, it was operating correctly for powershift, with forward being toward the operator and down and reverse away from operator. And the linkage all looks standard. Guess I may have to hook up some fuel and batteries to see which way the pinion turns to be sure.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
