Has anyone converted a Cat 12 8T to electric start or acquired one that already has it installed?

I want to convert my grader to electric start but I need measurements on where to locate the holes that I need to cut into the starter boss on the bell housing.

Thanks

I have a late model 8t parts machine that has both the cut out for an electric starter and the hydraulic side shift for the blade, call me if you want information.

We just converted our 12 to elec start we got a starter off of a 318 gen set and just bolted it on. We put the batts in the rear tool box and added a solinoid switch. We still need to update the generator to 24 volt in the spring Good luck Scotty

Wish I had it that easy. I don't have holes pre drilled for bolting on. I have to drill my own holes in the bell housing.

I have a starter on order. I'm going to convert to an alternator instead of a generator.

The rear tool box isn't a bad idea for batteries. I think I'm going to tear the pony motor off and put the batteries there though.
