Everything I have says 65 hp on the D330. Changes to 75 hp on the 3304 and I suspect with the D330c also. What specific model and s/n?

Here is some sales literature courtesy of RD6Plower.
I’d like to know what horsepower my 84J is as well; 22xx serial number? Turbo with LOTS of power. Thanks.

The entire 78A series is 65 hp D330a.
The 84J 1525-up is a 78P series 3304 engine at 75 flywheel hp.

OM, My information came from Caterpillar Track-Type Tractors D4D/D5/D6C catalog/brochure FORM AEO21118, not sure of year. Early 1970's maybe?
Specs page says D330, However it does state on page 7, We've increased the hp of all three tractors (D4D) 75 flywheel up from 65. Would that possibly mean the D330c engine?

Sounds like it, it was in 1972 that the D330c 4-3/4" bore change occurred.

Mid 70's I worked in a Cat ag dealer shop and remember them taking D4D's and turning them up to 120 HP using a dynamometer on the PTO.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
