Also owner by grandfather, this rebuilt 6 cylinder engine was used to plane between 2,00 to 3,000 board feet before he passed away.  It is a diesel engine that was used in his sawmill used for timber.

Can't really make it out but it looks like it says Buda on the manifold and looks like an Allis

Yes, it does say BUDA on two places on the side as well.  And BUDA Diesel on the other side.

Nice engine - collectors might salivate over it

Here's another site that would have more information about Buda, which was bought by Allis Chalmers.

Thanks for the tip about Alis chambers site. 😊  Any guesses as to what I should put it up for on the classifieds there.  Guess I do not know the right words to describe what this engine is well enough to find anything like it.  Couple that are close but none as big and with radiator and casing. Suggestions about how to research and then word the post it for sale there would be greatly appreciated!

Add a close-up of that serial # tag that we can see in your last photo - a potential buyer will want that info.

I believe with updated fuel injection that engine series powered the Allis Chalmers HD 21.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
