Thanks for sharing it, very interesting, though I'd hate to have had to pay the bill, over 1,000 workshop hours, plus parts, plus outside specialists, plus flights, what would you estimate it cost because I'm thinking $300,000-$350,000?
Regards
Mike

I noticed that that tractor didn't have a winch (unless I missed it). Are they mutually exclusive with rippers? I'd guess some other machine down there is equipped with a winch - seems like the sort of attachment you'd want available.
What a great video and it looks like a very professional operation.

I can't imagine the cost of the plane alone just to fly that thing back and forth it's just hard to picture a d8 up in the air lol.

I was trying to make out the tail flash on the C-17, out of McChord AFB? The C-17 is an awesome air lifter and has ample power. When mostly empty they take off like they were fired out of a sling shot.

Hi, Drujinin.
Are you sure???????????????? NOT about Mary Ann, although I ain't sure that that tractor is Mary Ann.. About the gender of the person leaning against the track. I suspect that it might be a male apprentice with a 'big' hairdo.

Just wund'rin'.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Keep in mind that the C17 can lift a fully loaded M1A1 tank with it's crew plus about another 10 tons of supplies or the like weight of equipped infantry troops and deliver it anywhere in the world with an adequate area to land it. That means as long as US Air Force and Navy fighters can provide air supremacy and with over 200 C17's in the inventory the US can deliver 2 Battalions of tanks anyplace in the world within 24 hours of the order to go. Flying shorter distances it can put a complete Armor or Mechanized Infantry division on the ground in 3 days. Impressive capability. The only requirement is enough infantry on the ground to secure a landing field. And those numbers are within the 74% operational ready rate. If 100% are ready that's 3 Battalions of tanks plus supporting equipment.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
