I noticed in a thread that suggested that the rotor could be resurfaced. My D6-9U MJK mag is giving me a fit and I thought I’d try to salvage what I have before I order new parts.

What’s the recommended procedure for resurfacing that rotor? Thanks, Craig

I've never tried this, but I would make an arbor and grind on the surface grinder in a spin jig.

I have cleaned up Eisemann G and GV rotors on my lathe. I have used very light cuts, and have not been able to take very much off as the metal is not overly thick. Also with the Bakelite being softer than the brass or what ever Bosch used the metal will be a little proud of the bakelite. I have taken care of this with a light sanding with a fine sandpaper on a flat surface. With all of that being said your rotor looks sad.
Thanks
Ken

It is fortunate that Cat parts are readily available, in cases where they are not, a rotor like this could be duplicated from Delrin (Acetal). It may not be cheap but it can be done and should last a lifetime.

fill the cracks with epoxy and then use a piece of thick glass with some fine grit wet dry paper in a figure eight pattern. go slow and make the grit finer in steps until you are done.

D46U straight blade,D46U cat angle blade,allis chalmers AD4 grader and Khoering 404 dragline. D4C 40A,D4 2T and scraper.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
