Has anyone tried an aluminum radiator core in there Cat? My D47U's radiator is beyond repair and aluminum is a much more cost effective option. However corrosion is a consideration. I'm thinking isolation gaskets and stainless steel bolts and hold downs. I think anti-freeze has corrosion inhibitor, maybe adding some extra.

The source for the aluminum radiator core dried up. It was being made in China. Got an email from Cooling Radiator Factor, with the current tariffs they won't build it, said shipping alone would be $300, total cost delivered was to be $340. Back to repair of the original core. Someone filled most of the bottom 4 inches with I guess Bondo. About half the tubes I haven't been able to get a rod down yet. If I can't fix it, guess another good D4 goes to the scrapper/parts. Cost of a new US core exceeds the value of the machine. Looked at two used ones, they were as bad as mine. Heroic efforts are under way!

i wonder if pwr cooling systems could make you a suitable core. they make radiators for many things they also have the likes of nasa and boeing as customers. they would possibly have a rad in the current range that you could mount in the original frame so it looked the part but was actually self contained

Expensive... but,

Radiator Supply House in Foster, OR might have in stock, or could build what you need.

Oil cooler for my '48 7U was $1,450 (looking back I should have bypassed it).
