Hey Boots,

Here is a link to OldMagnets picture of my 17-a alternator setup. I purchased it from Dana @ Florin Tractor. It's a simple setup, works great. Look at second picture in first post on thread.

In the day I used to see Cats show up at a down town Fresno used parts seller's place with a belt drive set up.Not as neat and clean a set up as pictured but it worked. The generators had been gutted and the shaft sticking out the back end of the case with a pulley and mounting brackets welded to the generator case. The pulley size can be adjusted to get proper speed for your alternator.

If its an older 10SI or next generation 12SI, then a "Low Speed Turn On" Voltage Regulator is available as I did some research on this subject a couple of weeks ago.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
