Regards Dennie
Norm, I am very interested in your project have thought of doing something like that before for my d73t would love to see more pic as you finish this up . great looking job so far thanks, steve
Norm, I want to "Thank You" for thinking out of the Box another excuse for me to use when the Wife starts complaining about my "Miscellaneous Treasure Piles"! 😆 👍
I don't possess the talents or have the tooling you have Norm so I bought a complete unit ready made from Florin Tractor in Sacramento, CA
Just up dating some pictures.
The first shows the shaft on the back end of the drive. The second shows the belt pulley mounted. The last shows a bit of extra shaft if I want to drive something else.![]()
looking good it took a turn I didn't expect LOL with the pulley I was thinking of mounting the alt on the end with a coupling but your project did give me some new ideas thanks very much for your time and pic's
Hi Norm, next time you come to Rochester, I'll take the remainder of the generator off your hands.
keep the pictures coming lol....been wanting to do this to my D4-7U for awhile
The mounting bracket is done except for paint. It is 3/16" plate so I doubt it will bend. I will change the connections on the alternator from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock to put them in out of harms way. This is an old unit that I think works😕. If it doesn't I can get a rebuild kit for about $15 + shipping. So far the total is $8.00 for a bearing and $10.00 for paint. The second bearing, pulley, shafting etc. came out of the scra.... resource pile.
