A much needed makeover! Lynda the Lodi vineyard D2 is getting spa treatment as I type. A few more small things for the D2; a new blade face is being formed. The D4 might get a set of rock guards. The debate is on whether or not to bolt up a toolbar unit next. The stress is overwhelming! JM
Waiting for parts.
Side view.
I would love to purchase a set of the late style/font D4 radiator badges. Same as the ones pictured on another members D4 orchard unit.. ( He saved this one from the scrapper!)
Hi Juiceman, i bought my D4 radiator badges from Steering Clutches outfit in Boise Idaho.
JM, I would go the toolbar set up and rock guards, it will make it more useable, I did notice some extra space beside the 2 machines in picture so I guess with toolbar fitted you will get it into the shed, by the way nice shed I wish I had some more undercover space like that, they both look brilliant ready to get out and make a little dust

Angelo: I have D4 badges with the old font. The proper ones for this later machine are rare (IMO). I have seen other late serial machines such as mine that did not have any as well. This particular font is thick, similar to the lettering.
Thanks Busso: I actually have an earlier model D4 that I am considering sending to the paint shop as well, which is equipped with a factory toolbar already. Too many choices here. I have a spare blade that I can pin up to it or several different toolbar beams with various attachments.
The Lynda D2 has a 41 unit plus toolbar goodies I can add as well. Many ways to dress up a machine. JM
Some gauges arrived via Holt Ag solutions today
Jm they do look good, gear shift label middle lower selection does it stand for Oh Dear to fast?
Hi, Busso.
NOPE! "Overly Destructive."
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Such keen observations. That tag will go on one of my machines that is stamped SPG, which runs tall gears. In this part of the country, some owners of orchard machines would "lock out" on the shift rack by welding square stock into the slots for 4th and 5th gear. The neighbor (Valley View) had quite the fleet of tail seat Caterpillars; rumour was if anyone exceeded 3rd gear that they would be terminated. Even as a 12 year old, 3rd gear was quite fast for a lad such as myself. No, I did not ever try speeding, for "my" D4 did not have a back rest, only the railing which was very flimsy and worn from being used as a hand hold. JM
