Pops set me up with this scraper. It had a Claney's price of $000.00 so I had to go and get it. I'm kinda thinking Pops was getting tired of me being more productive at the play days using his 70 scraper with the No Ho. But I'm still thinking once the Ho is up and running he will still be getting his feelings hurt 😆

Can any of you tell me something about his scraper? How many yards? It's weight?

Hi, Mike Mc.
I'm guessing a bit but I'd say about the 10-12 cu. yd mark, probably somewhere between the Cat 60 and the Cat 70 in capacity and weight, maybe closer to the 60 than the 70. Looks pretty straight too.

I have not seen many of them around, particularly DowNunder but the people to whom I have spoken who do claim some knowledge of them all seem to reckon that Allis Chalmers made some pretty good scrapers. And at that price, how much argument can you reasonably put up?

Just looking at it, I'd say that it may need to be loaded with the apron open as little as possible and let plenty of material fall forward onto the apron to get your capacity - - which will also help the apron to close.

So when are we gonna see some photos of it working? After all, you have the Diesel Forty to drag it around. That should help to blow some soot and cobwebs outa that jigger too. Or how about the R5? And you've still got the 'Mighty' D4 for a push cat.

C'mon, Man Gittamoovon.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hey Mike,

Did that come from the yard Glen posted about several weeks ago up near Pleasonton? That looked like a real treasure trove!

Garwood............. that was its name before Allis bought them. My Dad used too pull a scraper like that with a 3TD7. That was in the 50s and it was still

Garwood then. I was TOO young to know whether it worked good or not, but he built ponds and waterways with it.

Goood find Mike and a good price too.

A/C bought out LaPlant Choate in 1952 I think, and that may be the lineage of your pan.
