I have recently acquired a D6 9U Serial #9U27640. When I push the fuel control all the way to "off" the main engine continues to run. Obviously, I am not completely shutting off the fuel supply. I have been told that the linkage is the first place to start looking. Any other suggestions?

disco0nnect the linkage at the governor and by hand shut the fuel off--if that works then its in the linkage, otherwise in the governor

Hi, Ron A.
Dependzic is right in what he says but it may be worth simply grabbing hold of the control lever on the side of the governor and trying to push/pull it further toward the stop position. If it is slack in the linkage, you may well be able to move that lever far enough to shut it off even without disconnecting it.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

most likely the little pin on the linkage inside the govenor has fallen out. i have four D6 9Us, it has happened twice in ten years. simple fix with good glasses and needle nose pilers and a pen magnet.
