It looks like the store is gone. The only thing that I can find under the "Store" area is membership and donations.
No mention of closing it in the last 2 published Board minutes. Lots of whining about the software and accounting but no action that I could see.
I have seen nothing from any of the powers for the last several months. So much for keeping the subscribers informed.
Addition:
Judging from what is presented below it appears that the decision was made unilaterally or during the secret portion of the BoD meeting.
Just one more example of what should be the pubic business being made in private.
Cat 11 I sent you a PM.
For the folks that have not been following things, the store has to put on hold for the time being due to the only paid administrative person finally taking her well deserved retirement.
Yes, memberships and donations can be sent in electronically or via regular mail to the new mail address in Oregon.
Thank you for inquiring and being patient. JM
For the time being the store will be closed with the exception of electronic items such as memberships, renewals and donations. Operating a store with a physical inventory requires someone to accept an order, gather the items ordered, pack them and deliver them to a shipper. With Mary's retirement, we do not have a person in place in Peoria (where the inventory is located) to perform the tasks required. The only sensible thing to do is to close the store until it can be reorganized rather than accept further orders that have no way of being fulfilled.
I don't recall any "whining" about software or accounting, what I do recall is that I am very impressed and excited about the progress Sue has made with a new accounting software platform that will help this club operate far more efficiently for both itself and all of us members. It will still take a bit of time, but when it is fully in place it will reduce the cost and time required to operate the club substantially. I know that these things are not super-exciting to most of us, but the not-so-fun things are what will solidify the foundation of the club and serve us all for many years to come.
I am definitely sorry for the inconvenience.
Kurt,
What about Kristen, what happened there? The whole idea of getting her on part time was for her to shadow and learn from Mary to prepare the club for when Mary did decide to retire, so that there was a suitable person to take that role and run with it.
From the outside it sounds a bit like the club is using Mary’s retirement as an easy reason to not have the store, even before Mary retired it seemed like the store was slowly being shut down.
