I just received my new ACMOC model today and it is beautiful. Thanks to the committee for taking design suggestions/corrections into the new model; right down to the bend in the throttle lever!
I do have one little question- is the blade suppose to be movable? My blade is "fixed" at about 1/2" off the surface and I have tried to coax it but am scared of breaking something.
I just can't run a grade when she won't go all the way down.......
Can someone help? Are they all like that?
Thanks

The blade on the new D9E does move up and down. They are all pretty stiff in their movement. If you hold down on the hood of the model and press down at the center of the blade with your thumb, it should move for you.

Hi Team......Catweasel received his hydraulic D9 yesterday...looks great!!!

As for next model, a DW21 or a 619, respectively first overhung and first of the 600 series ??? Both of these, along with the 235 hp D8H have very special places in Catweasels memory banks.

Regards...Blair

Hi, Folks.
My Cat D9E hydraulic dozer arrived today. I have to say that the detail is magnificent - - - - - except for one tiny, minor detail. Just as with the AC HD21 dozer model that I have mentioned elsewhere, (see post #24 in the 1:25 scale DW21 model thread) they have designed and built the model so that the track rollers ahead of the equaliser bar and the front idlers are on a different plane from the rest the of the track rollers, resulting in the model being quite noticeably tip-toey.

As also mentioned in the above thread, I e-mailed First Gear about this design characteristic and have received NO reply in almost 2 years. Glad I didn't hold my breath.

Hello, the model committee, would you please take note of this post and my previous post to Catalac in this thread, as well as the above-mentioned post in the DW21 model thread. If we are going to be paying good money for 'realistic' models, should they not BE realistic?

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Just noticed on ebay yesterday, that the first SpecCast done D2 sold for
$255.00!! A good investment from the original $60 it cost us! I know the
other ones are going privately for $150!!

Hi Deas Plant,

I sent Dave Tallon an email this evening asking him to check into your observation. Dave is the volunteer on the committee who is also an Engineer at Cat. He has access to technical information at Cat and will let us know his findings. He also looks over the first model of any program before the club gives the approval to move ahead.

I saw your first post just prior to being away for a few days. I just arrived home tonight to learn that you found the same situation on the D9E.

By the way, I agree with your comment about keeping the final design control/approval within the club. That has worked well to date, but mistakes can still happen.

Regards,
Lee

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
