Took a day hike recently with some friends up to an old limestone quarry in the Simi Valley area of Southern California. Spotted a P&H dipper shovel from the '20's and also a Best 25. Quite an inaccessible area - in the '20's the original equipment was walked in using crude roads cut on the steep slopes, but landslides have since ruined the old road and only steep, narrow hiking trails remain. The 25 actually looks pretty good as regards its undercarriage, since it apparently only ran a crusher using a PTO shaft drive and stayed mostly stationary. - Richard

Lol was thinking the same thing Erik when reading the post! Cant believe its been there this long! Oh im sure some inviro idot will dream up something so they cant be touched lol some posies or endangered grasshoppers might be around there! lol
