I am glad everything turned out well for you, it could not have happened to a nicer person.
Don't forget to post pics of the restoration.
Mike, it was a pleasure Having you down here , pity Helen hadn't come for the ride as well . I am sure Helen and Deanna would have given the Garden a Good work over , Well by Tongue any way !! Mate , Cat Skinner's are welcome here any time ,But We would need to put in extra Security if some of those "Southern Bells" showed up , espeacially around our 22 Parts !!. You will need to get used to that 1300 klm trip when We eventually get a Chapter going here ,and of course likewise us to travel up your end . My thanks to Scott and the Boys for My bits , and Thanks Also for the Buzz ride at the Brooks show was great , and David Went on the Clubs, Holt 75 which He won't forget in a Hurry !!.
To our US friends Mikes PV15 wasn't a Normal topseat, it is a Tailseat , and you probably say 'So What? ' To us Aussie's they are a Rare Bird. The only Tailseats sold here new that I have been able to trace were a Hand full of D2's into southern apple Orchards . and only last week I was told of a T/S sold in the Barossa Valley in S.A. about 3 years ago [equivilent to Nappa Valley , But nicer wines !!] My cousin didn't recall the model , small Gas machine 10/15/22 ? Anyone from S.A. know about it or any others ? We now have an 8C twenty, PV15 and a 30 in a T/S and Mike has a few as Well.
To add further frustration to our Collecting out here , early wide Guage tractors are a similar story , a few wide 22's were sold, hundreds of N/G [1 Dealer I have been told sold 500 odd 22's in North Qld into sugar Farms] .same applys to early D2's and D4's . Deanna and I did the long Trip over to W.A. to the National show ,at Pinjara . Was a good show all up , Spread out too much I felt, Lucky in hired a " Gofer" otherwise I would have missed much . Was a little dissapointed in the size of the Cat Display ,only about 12-15 units there .an original sold new , Cat 60 was on display. was sold to the Road Dept and is still in very Neat condition. Also an R2 ,only 2 were sold new in the West and for that matter not many came to Australia .there was a 2 Ton Cat and a nice little 10 a couple 22's, balance were D2's, D4's etc. Fordson [County] IH , Cletrac ,an Ansaldo [Italian with a Alfa -Romao diesel Engine] about 1950's,Track Marshall's etc were there and a huge Display of Wheel Tractors .The 9G Chamberlan Club arived in a Convoy of about 12-15 . and made a Great Entance feature . To our US freinds these Tractors were built in Western Australia ,Have a high speed Gear Range [About 30 mph] Very popular tor Trecking . Chamberlain Made one Special for following The Redex around Australia Rally's It would do I believe about 70 MPH I have seen it on Several occassions many years ago, Chamberlain were bought by John deere and and as such they closed the factory down . You know the story if you can't beat them buy them out .Visited the Brookes Museum at Dardanup.Would be I felt the best I have seen in Australia. Would have to rank right up with Woodlands, only Larger and covers a larger range of Machines all in really good Going order , Even have an Ecluid CT12 there [And Going] Have an operating steam Saw Mill and have ther own tractor Parade and Tractor Pull on open Day's. [Wednesday's and Sundays] Any how Mike so Much for My Ramblings have a great Day LJ
