Bought the 9u for parts did not think it would run after 7 years of sitting. Owner told me he worked it too hard and somthing blew. Took off valve covers noticed a small amount of coolant around one of the head bolts. All the valves seem tight and the crank oil looked ok not creamy so we pulled and pulled and pulled and then I remembered the throttle, and bang she started. It ran not too bad but has at least one dead cylinder and one injector line was sweating a lot, pulled valve cover off again bit of creamy oil in the area of the head bolt, crank oil still looked ok, any thoughts?

There are a few things to cause leaks but it could be a bad head gasket and open each fuel line one at a time and see which cyl. isn,t firing and could be a bad spray nozzle. If you find one missing take a good one out and swap the nozzles and see if the miss follows and if it does then you found the bad one.Sometimes I,ve seen leaks around a stud if the bottom of the casting under the stud threads is cracked or broken out causing a leak.Sometimes if there is good threads yet that the stud screws into then you could use a sealer on the threads to stop the coolant from coming up by the threads. Also check to see if the stud is torqued down ok as it could be loose and wouldn,t hrt to chek all the nuts to see if they,re ok.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
