How about a serial number 85Jxxxx for US models.
61H480 is the serial number
hello JJP ,the 955k 61h has a D330 turbocharged engine @115hp .
power shift 3 speed ,torque converter ,pedal steer ,electric start .
my book shows yrs built 1967-68 . 61H480 is a 1968 built.
weight 28000 pounds
length 16' 6''
width 6' 9''
height 9' 3''
bucket -cu yd =1.75
Thanks alot! Were these machines good?
Didn't make many of those, only two year production 1936 units...replaced by the 85J with 9,257 units.
The D330 engine was prone to overheating and head problems also spun bearings. Got better with the D330C engine which I believe this unit has but not as good as the later 3304.
Thanks. What about the water in the egine oil issue?
That's always a fun one to chase😊 😊
Head and block cracks usually leak compression gasses into the cooling system, rarely align with an oil passage or leak to the oil side. I think I'd go for the liner seals as the culprit. Put a pressure test on the cooling system and see what happens but check for bubbles in the radiator first.
JJP, the first place I would look is the gear drive water pump if a D330C and the more likely cause liner seals. They are a bit labour intensive but less parts intensive to repair than a cracked head. The best way to find out is drop the pan and pressurize the cooling system. See where the coolant is dribbeling down from. You may have to take the oil pump and plate down too to make sure. Now if you do the Ballancer Shafts need to be timed when you put the oil pump back up.

Hi Bob,
Got a question, I'm looking at the water pump parts diagram for the D330C and it appears to have a drain cavity between the two seals but it is not clear that this cavity is open to drain....I would assume it is but ya never know😊 😊
