Hi everyone, I've just bought an early model 977 that has the d6 u style driveline. I was wondering if the serial number on the engine was correct. It is 9A703 . The serial number on the rear is completely different and it just says transmission group.i can't remember the whole number but it begins with 4h.does this sound correct?

So it must have been an engine replacement at one time.

Are you sure that's a 9A not a 9U?

My data shows 9A703 is, D6 Track-Type Tractor, Military. Equivalent is 8U d6, so it looks like a motor transplant out of a military tractor.
