I would really like to thank all who helped with the 212 grader (especially ccjersey) brake and chain issue and while I am waiting on parts I have have another question about one of the machines we have on the farm. I have learned a great deal on the post about the 955 that would not push under a load and my son will know what to look for as he cleans things up for the winter in terms of leaks. I moved the machine around in the shed today and spied a big ol' black snake living in the belly pan.....he was alive and well, a good sign for no leaks! This machine is not used a lot as you probably figured but I would like it to be ready to go. FINALLY The question. There is a crack in the frame above the main lift arm ram mount point where the frame makes a dog-leg move toward the operator foot location. I understand that the later models have a straight frame in that ares to do away with the stress. The crack is around the pivot point in the center of the three that are are right in a row...up and down. I am not sure about what to do about this as it is an integral part of the main chassis. I don't know what the metalurgical make up is or if it is a simple bevel and weld repair. Obviously it makes a huge difference in the value of the machine not to mention that I need to use it to put in a water line! Thanks for any ideas, JEFF
P.S. Where is the serial number on this machine and how can I find the info on the archives...Thanks

Track Loader serial number plate is located on the rear LH side of the steering case.
Engine serial number plate on LH side of cylinder block.
Master serial number plate located on upper RH side of the loader frame.

Standard weld repairs would suffice....might want to fish plate/reinforce both sides if there is room.
