A friend of mine has a 955 12a, that he is thinking of converting to
direct electric start. Does anyone know what he needs and possibly
where to get the parts? I know some people have talked about converting
D2's and maybe D4's, would he need same parts ? Any help would be
great.

That would be a D315 engine same as the D4 6U & 7U and Old Magnet on here has all the info. you need to convert to the DS so I,m sure he,ll tune in & give you all you,ll need to do the job.You could get the loaders either way from the factory when they were new.

All the info you need is at this website........same as D4....just a little bit tighter to work on with the loader framework. At least the hard part is done, they already have the drilled mounting flange on the bellhousing.

Thanks OM!
I'll give the info to my friend, then its up to
him if he wants to change it. For now I'm
going to leave mine alone and keep using the
ponies to start them.
Thanks!!

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
