On the pump you have the suction pipe coming up, then on the front of housing you have the oil going to everything? seating in the seat on the right side of pump unit there is 3/4 to 1" hole that is open ". should oil be flowing out of here? If I try an block the open hole oil builds up pressure that I can not hold it.

How do I know I am getting enough oil to bearings?

Also what does the small pipe at the back top "between the trans and final" have to do with anything?

The 12A uses a two section pump, one section supplies the main shaft, bushings, pilot bearing etc. the other section circulates oil to the rear of the clutch as part of the splash lube and cooling.

Can't find anything on the mystery tube but I suspect it is a vent.

I did find the tube is a vent, but sorry for my like of understanding. I understand what your saying about two suctions, but how is oil getting to the bearings, an should there be oil coming out the side of the pump, coming out in picture above arrow.
Thank You

It's not about two suctions, it's about two sections....two gear pumps in the same housing. One section supplies the clutch internals and one section just circulates.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
