951c 3304 injector pump timing

Hi I'm resembling my engine I have a manual but it calls for a special guage to set pump timing which I don't have thought maybee someone may no how to set it another way any help appreciated

Hi Dave,
it can be spill timed, but, I do not have the timing degrees for this engine. I tried memory for apost the other day and got it wrong. All my saved literature is for earlier engines, sorry, should have kept more later stuff.

Does it have the sleeve metering style of pump on it (the one with a plate bolted to the side of it) or does it have the scroll type pump (thinner and more roundish with no plate on the side).

If it's sleeve metering style, it should have a pin to lock it in place at TDC and I can post how to do that.

If it's a scroll type system, there's a special adapter that'll lock the timing gear in the right place at TDC. I can post how to do that also. I've got that adapter also, and you can borrow it.
