When I go sideways on a slope and try to back up the sprocket on the lower side tries to climb out of the track. I can make it a little better by taking more slack out of the track but it is tighter then what it calls for. I measure 27 inches center to center on 5 pins on top after backing with that track loaded. The bushings have been turned and have little wear on good side. Is it possible for the chain to snake and not have any stretch. Thanks, Kerry.

27 inches is new spec in the list I got, have you checked the rails/rollers,take the weight off them and see if they are all good,i.e that the centers are not wallowed out and the flanges are intact or a lump of rock jammed in between them, don't put your hands in between the track and rollers in case it drops suddenly, look inside the track frame and see it is secured to the hard bar, check the idler is not slopping about, see the sprocket is tight as well check the frame alignment.

Turning the pins and bushes restores track pitch and puts a new bush wear surface against the sprocket, but it does not stop the track snaking, the internal wear on the pins and bushes is still there but now on the non-wearing side, its even more important after a turn to be sure the are no other problems with the u/c that make it more likely to throw a track.
