Hi very new to cat and this forum. Thanks for all the help so far!

I'm in the process of getting a cat 941. I would like to use it to clean up a small farm of brush, tree tops and dirt.
I think it'd be a good idea to replace fluids and filters before I begin any work to give myself a starting point for maintenance.

Is it possible to correctly choose the proper Service and Parts manuals based on my serial number? how is this done?

where is a good resource to purchase these or can the info be gotten from the internet?
is it worth getting the lubrication manual also?

Here is the serial number: 80H1666 - are there any resources that would tell me how this serial number breaks down into the exact 941 I have?

thanks for all help and input!
Cheers

Hi, All manuals should have serial numbers, and series of tractors listed on the front cover.

eBay, and Florin Tractor Parts are usually good sources to purchase.

Getting the Operation, and Lubrication manuals also is a good idea.

Hope this helps,

John

First of all welcome to the forum. There are several guys on the forum that sell manuals, I’d suspect if they have what you need they will reply back. Otherwise as stated earlier eBay and Florin are good sources. Also when you have a chance update your profile to include a city and state location. There are numerous local ACMOC Chapters and there could very well be memebers nearby who could answer questions on your machine. Thanks.

You need the 941 Parts Manual Form #UE070113. Covers 80H1 to 80H3039. Yours is a 1969 model with D330c (4-3/4" bore).
The 941B series started with s/n 80H3040. At s/n 80H3884 they changed to the 3304 engine and ROPS became standard.
The Service Manual will cover the 16U, 70H and 80H models (pricey @ $250 - $300) for an original and if complete will include the Maintenance and Lubrication section.

Here are the books I have Joe. The service manual is a big chunk so I would sell the parts book separate. Thanks. Charlie

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
