Hello brand new to cat and just getting to know this forum. Much appreciate all input so far, thank you!!

I'm considering buying the following 941. Serial Number 80H1666. Would like to use this to clean up small farm of trees, dirt and debris.

Attached is the CL link for the cat. I've gotten him to agree on $7k. Also here are a few other pix. I know the right front cylinder has to be repacked and the left is getting there too. No ROPS, which I dont like. Any input/feedback on the condition from the pix, price, things you all like or dislike is much appreciated!

the sprocket rings appear to be fairly new, and the rails don't look to worn out. the pin bosses are a little worn so check out the rollers for wear.
not a too big of a job to replace the cylinder seals--I did all four on my 941B. If you have power shift and pedal steer the machine is very easy to run.

If you buy that machine wait till it gets warmer to move it. The frozen mud around the sprocket could stop the tractor from moving. Trying to force it to move could cause expensive to repair damage.

For what you want to use the machine for, I would try to find one with a 4 in 1 bucket and a ROPS. The 4 in 1 will make the jobs you want to do, so much neater and easier, a loader by itself is fairly limited in it's ability, and if your going to be picking up trees and other debris, you should have a canopy with sweeps. By the time you fix this machine with a ROPS and a few other small repairs, your costs could be as much as buying one that's what you really need. Then there is the other consideration, do you want to work on a machine, or go to work and get your job done?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
