933f caterpillar pressing final drive components

I'm down to pressing the steering clutches and I've seen a very detailed video that shows a hollow ram and threaded rod to press the clutches. My issue is the end of the steering  shaft isn't threaded. I'll have the same issue pressing the sprockets as the sprocket shafts aren't threaded either. Am I missing something? The video shows a D2 but the 933 manual appears to show the same process. As always thanks for your input.

You are going to need a 17 ton push pull setup using a connector nut. Yes you do have threads, on the end of the shaft you show with the nut on it. I have posted my setups in the past on this forum as well as some other guys. Here's the link to my tear down of a model 15 tractor. Very similar to a D2.

How is the nut still on there when you have the hub removed??? Did the hub come off in pieces?  Is that a chunk of the hub behind the nut?  It almost looks like the hub got pulled off without removing the nut, removing a section of the hub in the process... [img]/media/kunena/emoticons/wacko.gif[/img]

Looks like he's attempting to remove the ring gear if those bearing hubs are off. I think that is a heavy washer under the nut.

The clutch pack is still together. The picture just happens to have the nut on it by chance with the washer that gets bent over when torqued down.  I've rebuilt the clutch packs and ready to press them on but even using a scratch awl, I can't feel or see threads in the steering shaft or sprocket shaft. I'll dig deeper when I'm home. Thank you for responding

Same process for pushing and pulling the sprocket. I bought a nut that was deep enough to engage all the threads on the shaft rather than the thin cap nut and used it to both push and pull depending on how I set my hollow ram and associated adaptors.
