I have a bad bottom roller on a 42A 933. I have it off and apart but can't tell what used to be in there. Was there a bushing and a bearing and a seal? All that is there now is the bushing (sleeve) that bolts in with 6 bolts on each end and the shaft that goes through the middle and the end caps. The inside of the bushing that is there is about 1" in diameter bigger than the shaft diameter so I'm wondering if its worn that much or if a bearing goes in there. Is there anywhere to buy a complete roller and how much? How much should the bushings/bearings be and is there a cheaper place to get them than a Cat dealer?

Thanks.

A new roller assembly from my local Cat dealer is $295. It would cost more than that to rebuild mine it is in rough shape. Anyone know of a place that might have a used one, I'm in Albany, NY. Thanks.

The 42A uses D4 undercarriage. Same rollers as D4, C, D, E, 933E, F, 11A2595-up, 955 12A1-5792. That's not a bad price from Cat.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
