Hi!
I am looking at a 933 42a, approx. 1967 model. It looks in over all good
condition w/ 80% tracks and under carriage. It is Direact elec. start, and
Seams to run good with no aparent leaks or problems. It is missing the cover over the battery compartment and the little shelf onthe left side is alittle bent.
Over all I think a decent tractor. Can anyone give me any pionters or advice on this later machine. I know that the earlier machines were weak and abused.
Thanks, Ed

Several changes occurred to the 42A:
They started out with the new D311 (odd ball) and had D4 size undercarriage
Then changed to the D320T (another odd ball)
Need serial number to tell for sure but if it is a 1967 model it will have the D320T
If the machine was treated right it will be every bit as reliable as the D2 but finding parts for these engines may be a real challenge.

Hi!
Thanks B4D2, I hope to buy this loader and have it homeby the end of month.
Thanks old Magnet, I found the serial# 42a7236. I don't know the hours, but
it seams to have been taken care of. Whats the differance between the old
D311 and the new D311. Also any info on the D320T if that is what this Model has.
Thanks Ed

The new D311 was an entirely different engine from the old D311, had compact fuel injection system as did the D320T. They were both primarily industrial engines used for marine and gen set applications. My info states the D320T as beginning at serial number 42A6164 and yours would be a 1966 model.
My rack setting manual also shows the D320T engine was used in the 922 (59A1-up) Traxcavator. The old D311, the new D311 and the D320T were all 4 inch bore x 5 inch stroke.

Hello Martyn, nice looking loader you have there. Pony motors are only tempermental when you have spark, carb or timing problems. If you have all three correct, no reason why the pony should give you any problems. I love the sound of them winding out.
