The 8T is a model #12 unit with D318 (same as D6) engine, has a 12 foot blade and weighs about 22,200 pounds.
The 9T is a model #212 unit with D311 (same as D2) engine, has 10 foot blade and weighs about 10,865 pounds.

The difference is size. The #12 is the biggest grader they made at the time they came out 1947 with the D318 6 cyl. engine in it like the D6 tractor & the 9T #212 is the baby grader in other words & had the D311 4 cyl. engine in it like the D2 tractor & they too came out in 1947.The middle size grader is the #112 & used the D315 same as the D4 engine.

OM that reference for the 9T 212 SD weight is incorrect. 9T series 212 tandem drive graders' weight is around 13,800 pounds or more if equipped with cab and scarifier. That weight listing is for a "Single Drive axle" 9T. I don't think any 9T series graders were actually single drive.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Yes, the 9T is a tandem drive ( there is no single drive as some lists state) and the new weight I show is 13,535 pounds (close enough)
