It won't let the blade come down. It goes up, but it will not come down. It did this once before and I was able to get it to drop the blade by loosening the big square nut in the middle of the cable unit. But then I had miles of lever travel and sometimes it would come clear down and sometimes it would only come part way down and it didn't work good at all. Trying to do last Fall's project this spring and need the cable unit to work properly and I don't have a book for the cable unit. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Start with a round of adjustments.
The #127 is the same as the former #29.

Make sure the adjustment nuts 2 & 4 in the first pic are tight together after adjustment if not there is play in the release action.

Hi, farmerfred.
After you have adjusted the brake spring to a good working tension, it pays to check the location of the brake roller in relation to the hole on the bake actuating lever again. I usually do these two adjustments in the reverse order 'cos adjusting the brake spring tension has been known to change the location of the brake roller in relation to the hole due to brake actuating lever movement caused by adjusting the spring tension.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
