The detent is supposed to be between "down" and "float". Not really any difference between down and power down that I know of, so no place for a detent there. When you are not past the detent into "float", the valve should return to the "hold" position when the lever is released.
Have you checked control linkage for binding and lubricated it well?
Maybe some of the track loaders had a special valve which used a kick-out linkage or hydraulic circuit like the wheel loaders had a little later on.
From the neutral position of the lever I can push it foward to the first detent, it locks in and the blade goes power down, then foward to another detent which is float. I dont see anything binding anywhere. All the linkage has been off. Maybe something in the pump itself. thanks again
