I will likely trailer a 5U D2 in the coming weeks, and have a plenty capable trailer that will handle the weight of these tractors (16,900 gross, minus 3860 trailer weight) but finding out the exact width isn't clear. Is a standard width trailer (7FT between the fenders) going to be wide enough? The blade is certainly wider than that (I think) but the thought is that it will sit in front of the fenders. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Depends on what the tractor has on it. Gauge is 50 inches and standard track shoe width is 16 inches so add that on, then you have the blade mounts if it's a standard Cat blade, the width of which depends on how high your trailer fenders are. I'd say it "probably" is wide enough but tell us how high the fenders are and what sort of blade you have on the tractor
Hi I measured both the S-blade and the toolbar blade arrangements. They are both the same width’s you should have just a little over 5 inches of clearance
