I have an early D2, 5J1404SP 50 Inch.

1) Anyone know where primary fuel pump gears can be obtained? About ten years ago, a now closed fuel injection service shop told me he thought he could get new gears.

2) The parts book does not show a seal in the front of the Main Fuel Pump Housing where the fuel injector pump camshaft drive goes into the engine. Oil leaks out of my fuel injector pump housing, apparently into the crankcase. Shouldn't there be a seal on the pump drive to the fuel pump camshaft? Otherwise, what keeps the oil in the fuel pump?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check your parts book a little closer. The seal is shown with the filter tower. Check with Cat for the transfer pump gears. Numbers are in the parts book.
