I bought a 58 Traxcavator that was missing the hydraulic tank. When unloading the Traxcavator, it was in neutral and clutch disengaged, there was still fluid squirting from one of the hoses. How could this be, if the pump wasn't turning? And what hydraulics are on these Traxcavator? I see people referring to 44 hydraulics.

The traxcavator should be a 12a and have the oil tank and valve ass. on finder and use a front pump connect with a joint shaft on the puly crankshaft

Yes, I'm aware of that, but I'm wondering why I had fluid squirting out of the hose by the fender. It doesn't have a tank.

The 12a have a housing oil filter on left side finder rear and have a joint in the hose and could leaking and should have a other hose on right side

Some movement from the hydraulic rams as it was being moved?

I think I have a spare secondary tank for a D4 traxcavator in my treasures. I don't know if you are interested. Sure sounds like you have a leak somewhere though.
