Hi, mog5858.
I don't have a load chart for that 'li'l beauty' but a LOTTA sidebooms would lift close to their own weight close in before the advent of hydraulic counterweight extension and many would lift more than their own weight with hydraulic counterweight extension.
Here izza link to the current PL61 sideboom page at plmcat.com: https://plmcat.com/pipeline-equipment/pipelayers/pl61-pipelayer
Your machine would lift somewhat less than that.
Just my 0.02.
Was this the one that was auctioned off a couple of months ago in Sacramento? Just curious. Grant.
Not really a 561, it's a MD6 pipelayer.
Its serial number is 9U39C308 if you read it right.
With 3500lb. counter weight might pick 26,500lbs at 4 foot overhang.
Bob

things went well last week so I thought I would share a few pic as we all seem to like to see equipment working. the tank was 5000LB and you could tell it was there but I think the sideboom handle it well. I would like to find a block to make the load line a 2 part line as it's very fast when going up right now. the 992B helped with clean up.![]()
