Can anyone advise why this blade hinge doesn't fit? there is no i.d. on the blade, but it is attached to a D4D
its 2J850 as per the parts book but the hole size is 1/8" undersize (measured on the pin, not the worn hole) and the height is about 3/8" too much.

Looks like the one on the blade was bored out and a bigger pin was used. I believe the new bracket has been updated. The bracket on the blade will have to be removed and relocated.

pretty common in my woods to bore the hole bigger and install a new pin to fit. usually done to tighten up worn blades etc

D46U straight blade,D46U cat angle blade,allis chalmers AD4 grader and Khoering 404 dragline. D4C 40A,D4 2T and scraper.

2J850 is the correct number.....so either the joint has been reworked or the replacement part is from the land of "almost right".

id say it has a bush mechanic fix written all over it. maybe the original broke or they made it take a larger pin instead of a proper repair.

I'd agree with trainzkid, looks to have been reworked. "Cut to fit and paint to match" type scenario. Maybe the ears were moved to accommodate the wear.

Being that the 4A blade uses four of those hinges, are they all the same on this unit?

I was referring to the ones on the blade now. Are they all the same? May be that is not a Cat blade.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
