I'm going to adjust the valves on a friend's D-8 46A tomorrow and I forgot to look up the specs before I left town. Does anyone know the valve lash and the torque for the rocker studs?
Thanks.

I don,t have a 46A book but the 15A book I have with the same D342 engine calls for .016" clearance & if it has the compression release then they get set at .025" to 030" And for the rocker studs I don,t have it either but I believe they are a 1/2" stud so 58 to 60 lbs. torque should do it.

I was pretty sure they are the same setting as the older 14A-15A engines (D342) so if they are cold set them at .018" or the .016" hot.

Thanks SJ and Willie. It has the compression release, so I will set them at .025 to .030.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
