1988 D3B 23Y02567 has a 3 point hydraulic lift assembly that no one can identify. I finaly got it pressure washed and have not found a data plate or casting numbers. There are two scuffed up labels that seem to talk about operation.
I have identified the PTO gearbox as a Model D-300 S/N 105 LINDEX COMPANY,Inc of Yakima, WA. A kind and helpful man named Ted Adams is the flame keeper for the former Linderman enterprise. Take a moment to look at lindemanarchives.com , good reading.
Mr. Adams sent me a high resolution photo of his full scale side view blueprint parts drawing for the Model 300/305. The model 300 that I have is a 1,000 rpm configuration, I am hoping to find a set of gears and a output shaft to convert to 540 rpm, as is the model 305.
This little D3B was bought new for Texas Eastern Transmission just to tow a bush hog and do some little jobs around the comprssor station. It only has 2057 hours on it. Seems the left steering clutches have more wear than the right.Other than that everything works, except the horn. Anyone with knowledge about this, please e mail me at [email protected]. Thanks & Happy Independence Day!

I had 2 Lindex 3pt hitch and pto setups. The pto s I had were 540. I have original brochures for the Lindex line. I will check to see if I have a parts list for them. I think Bobcat- Ingersol Rand bought them out a few years back.

I just noticed this thread and remembered seeing something very much like this on a D3C advertised in Australia....here is the link, is it the same brand of hitch or do they have something different?

That seems to be a pretty rare attachment on the D3's. Would have to be set up from factory to drive either a winch or PTO as they don't seem to normally have drive provision. (Do stand to be corrected)

While on the topic, can anybody identify this D3 PTO gear box?

Hi Team,
at our Dealer we used to make our own PTO boxes for the Department of Sustainability and Environment for their D3's. These were used for slasher and spray pump drives to fire fight and control weeds etc in the State Forests. The machines were set up for fire fighting and trail clearing. They had about a foot so so added to each side of the blade to get the trails wide enough for the fire truck access in one pass.
With the advent of fitting air conditioned cabs, the machines had inside and outside temperature gauges fitted to stop the machines getting fried as the operators could get further into the flames. Several had the engines stall due to lack of oxygen and the paper air filters burnt out !!!!!!
Cheers,
Eddie B.

I am looking forward to ANY info on these boxes. You are right, the Lindex outfit went to Palm MFG, then bobcat. Bobcat is no help. Maybe i can get through via Ingersal-Rand?
I will also need procedure for adjusting the steering clutches. Manual on order, they say three weeks for delivery.
thanks
Jim

I was looking at my Lindex brochures, The part # for the PTO 1000 rpm pto is D 300 this is for the D3,D3B D3SA D3BLGP and D4C. The part # D305 is for the 540 RPM pto that fits the above machines. My price list dated Jan 21 1991 was $ 3550.00 for the 1000 rpm and $ 3750.00 for the 540 rpm pto. In my notes on the brochure I wrote a Dart 390 speed changer I cant remember what that meant that far back. The Lindex 3pt hitch for a D3 all models sold for 4650.00 the D4s 4520.00 the D5s 5520.00 D6 6380,00.The 1000 rpm pto and 3pt sold for $ 8835.00 the 540 rpm pto sold for 9035.00. Here is a phone number I wrote down. 605-225-0360.
