Got the gas engine running, need to do a little more tuning on it but seems to run good.
Fresh oil in the main engine, pinion, injection pump and aircleaners . I'm working on bleeding the diesel fuel system in preparation for start up.
Hi, d2gary.
Good stuff. Thanks for the video - sounds pretty good.
I spent a lottta happy hours onna 2T D4 'dozer over 2 1/2 years on my second job after leaving school. Some clearing, some dam construction and general earth moving and some plowing with tandem 14-disc 1-way plows. All good not-so-clean fun.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Got the gas engine pretty tuned in. Spun the main engine with no problem . Good oil pressure and fuel pressure. Might get a start tomorrow
Well it's a no start. Had good fuel to the injectors and moved the decompression lever to run. The load didn't seem to change so I shut down the starting engine. Discovered the crank seal went out for some unknown reason. Took the rocker cover off to check the decompression on the valves and found number 4 intake valve pushrod not in the rocker arm. Looks like I've got some more work to do.
Crank seal on the pony or the main engine, Scott? Nothing like a good mystery to solve. My guess on the rocker is a combination of a loose adjustment combined with a sticking valve. The seal could be something like over-pressure in the crankcase or it could just be worn/decomposed I guess.
It was the starting engine seal that went. It ran upon start up and them while I was tuning the carburetor. Then when I started bleeding the injectors it ran for some time before it let go until I shut it down. Luckily I caught it before all the oil was gone. About half a quarter leaked out.
