I don't recall seeing any measurement specs but when new they used seven bimetallic discs @ 4.7mm thick and six steel discs @ 2.3mm thick.
In the 1970's I rebuilt a 25CCU using discs and plates from the steering clutches of a D7 3T. Those D7 discs and plates had been replaced but were deemed too good to be scrapped. I added 1 disc and 1 plate and got away with it. I know if you do not exceed 2¾" stack height you are good and I think you are good to 3" as there is enough "allowance" in the adjustment of the unit.
I am still amazed by the things that I got away with when I didn't know what I was doing!

They do use D7 steering clutch discs but the math does not check out. I get a total new stack height of 46.7mm or 1.84"
well i'll do some measuring tomorrow. they were steel to steel, still worked but not very good.
Steeringclutch.com usually have them in stock .Not expensive
