D7-17A That I'm converting to direct start: i bought a four post solinoid and wondered what the two small posts are for. one i know is to make the connection for power to start, no instructions with the box and nothing really on line

The two large ones are for the battery and starter. The two smaller ones are for energizing the solinoid. You have what is called an insulated solinoid. The way that I wired mine is up is called gound seeking. I ran a wire from the battery terminal to one of the small terminals. The other terminal is run the to starter switch and the from the starter switch to ground.

Make sence?
